Tiffany Hunter Home was asked to prepare a $5.2 million Crystal Cove home for sale. The interior of the home featured dark furniture, art and drapes. It would be hard for buyers to imagine a lighter, more open space. End Result: the home went into escrow within 30 days.
1. Living Room and Dining Room
Before: the owners used the living room strictly as a dining room and had a 14-foot table in the space. Buyers would wonder whether the home had a formal living room.
After: We removed the owners furniture and styled the space the way the builder intended - with a living area and an adjacent dining area. The heavy red drapes were replaced with white linen, and we used blue and white decor to highlight a coastal theme.
2. Family Room
Before: the family room featured over-stuffed sofas and heavy brown furniture. The space seemed small and crowded.
After: We replaced the dark furniture with a large ivory sectional and transitional square coffee table. The space immediately felt larger and lighter.
